ALEX HARRINGTON

I’m glad you’re here.

We can start wherever you are.

I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, paced, and grounded in care. People come to therapy for many reasons. Sometimes it’s a specific concern, and other times it’s a sense that something feels off or harder than it used to.

In our work together, I’ll pay close attention to emotional experiences, relational patterns, and the ways past experiences continue to shape the present. I’m less interested in quick fixes and more interested in understanding what’s underneath, at a pace that feels supportive rather than rushed.

Whether you’re coming on your own or with a partner, therapy can be a place to slow down, reflect, and begin to make sense of what’s been weighing on you.

You don’t have to see the whole path.

Sometimes it’s enough to notice what’s right in front of you, and let the rest come into view as you go.

MY APPROACH

Emotionally focused and attachment based

My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and attachment-based approaches. I pay close attention to the emotions and patterns that shape how you connect with yourself and others. We’ll look at how those patterns formed and how they show up now, so you can respond with more clarity and intention.

Trauma informed and nervous system aware

I approach therapy with an understanding that many of your responses developed for a reason, especially in moments that feel intense or overwhelming. I draw from trauma-informed care and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to gently notice protective responses as they arise. The work moves at a steady pace, allowing space to explore without pushing beyond what feels manageable.

Collaborative and integrative

Therapy is shaped by your pace and what feels important to you. I bring relational and nervous system awareness into the room, and we’ll work together to understand what’s happening beneath the surface. The focus isn’t on quick fixes, but on changes that feel steady and lasting.
